ACR+ member North London Waste Authority (NLWA) has allocated a total of GBP 250 000 (EUR 286 591) to the North London Community Fund 2024/25 to help not-for-profit organizations develop new approaches to reduce waste or expand the scope and impact of existing projects.

NLWA has been providing grants since 2017 to bolster waste reduction efforts in the north London region. Successful recipients have included 2econd Chance, which refurbishes unwanted laptops and donates them to individuals in need, simultaneously offering valuable training and employment opportunities. Additionally, Bounds Green Food Bank is actively pursuing a zero-waste approach by installing a thermos compost bin, using biodegradable packaging and turning old bedding into tote bags.
