Through its participation in the ESTRAEE project (Sustainable cross-border strategy for the management of waste electrical and electronic equipment), ACR+ member LIPOR has implemented a model that extends the lifespan of electrical and electronic equipment. LIPOR launched a second phase of the project, "Capitalisa ESTRAEE" with the goal of capitalising on acquired knowledge and results in the territory. This included conducting a study to promote the reuse and recycling of electrical and electronic waste in the LIPOR area; organising and participating in technical workshops to share experiences and knowledge involving various stakeholders in the electrical and electronic equipment value chain in Portugal and Spain; and launching a communication campaign to improve citizen involvement in the proper disposal of electrical and electronic equipment.

As of September 2023, the implementation of the Capitalisa ESTRAEE project has resulted in the collection of a total of 355.7 tonnes of out-of-use electrical and electronic equipment.
