ACR+ member ORDIF supported a study to improve the network of glass recycling bins in Île-de-France for better accessibility. The aim is to enhance glass collection performance by capturing lost glass and contribute to achieving regional waste reduction and recycling targets. As a result, an infographic has been developed to raise awareness about the importance of glass recycling and its challenges.

In 2021, glass collection performances in Île-de-France struggled to reach 21 kg per inhabitant, and these performances have remained stagnant for about a decade. Simultaneously, there remains an average of 14 kg of glass per inhabitant in the residual household waste of the people of Île-de-France. In fact, more than 170 000 tonnes of this highly recyclable material are mostly incinerated each year in Île-de-France.
