Inspections of the separate collection of packaging waste generated at commercial sites have been carried out in several regions of ACR+ member Sofia Municipality. The aim of the inspections is to prevent paper, cardboard, cartons and other packaging materials from being disposed of in household waste containers. Commercial establishments, which generate packaging waste, are obliged to collect separately the waste generated as a result of their activities. Since the beginning of the year, such inspections have been carried out in 98 shops, food outlets and others. The inspectors have drawn up 7 reports and imposed 12 fines for violations of the Waste Management Act.
