The Government of Catalonia has awarded grants of up to EUR 150,000 to 16 Catalan companies for the development of new R&D projects in the field of the circular economy. It corresponds to the budget attributed to the joint call for support for Industrial Research and Experimental Development in the field of waste between ACCIÓ and ACR+ member ARC of the Department of Climate Action, Food and Rural Agenda.

In total, this year a budget of EU 1.6 million is dedicated to the aim of accelerating the circular economy from the prevention, reuse or recovery of waste. The beneficiary companies will carry out R&D projects over three years to develop new technological solutions (materials, products or processes) for their own use or for third parties to prevent the generation of waste or to recover it, ensuring that resources are kept as long as possible in the economy.
