In 2021, ACR+ member City of Warsaw conducted a pilot campaign to collect unsold food in three of the city's markets - in just a few weeks, almost three tonnes of vegetables and fruit have been saved. From this action, the project "EKOstolica - Let's not waste food!" was planned, which has won the "Action Plan for Cities. Model Locality" competition that promotes cities that seek responses to local challenges in line with the sustainable development goals set out in the UN's 2030 Agenda.

These are not the only activities in Warsaw that promote responsible food consumption, production and distribution. There is a network of restaurants in the city where anyone can bring their leftover food; the city runs promotional and educational campaigns on not wasting food; and the city council is working on a unique food policy for Warsaw.
