The separation of plastics, cans and beverage containers is now very common for most residents of ACR+ member Maastricht. They can deposit it at the 56 environmental platforms in the city. However, incorrect waste and half-filled containers that cannot be processed are still regularly discarded. Maastricht encourages residents to separate this waste in the correct way through the campaign "Ready for recycling", publishing messages on social media, RTV Maastricht and city buses for 8 weeks. The campaign is part of the municipal waste policy “Maastricht waste-free 2030”, which aims to become a waste-free city by 2030 and to achieve 100% recycling and reuse of household waste.
