In January 2021, ACR+ member CITEO launched a call for expressions of interest (AMI) dedicated to the implementation of systems to capture and then recycle household packaging from on-the-go consumption outside the home. CITEO estimates that around 300,000 tonnes of household packaging are thrown away or sorted each year in hundreds of thousands of public or private places throughout France. A total of EUR 9.5 million has been allocated to this AMI. The second phase of the AMI is now launched and will fund and support projects to establish selective sorting in public spaces and places open to the public.
