LIPOR and the Municipality of Valongo, are tested the application of an experimental material AAEG (Artificial Aggregate of Extensive Granulometry) on Rua Álvares Cabral, in Valongo. This material, coming from the slag of the incineration of urban waste at the LIPOR Energy Recovery Plant, was used as the base layer of the road pavement, in a section measuring around 60 meters long and 9 meters wide. This practice is in line with the proposals contained in the Local Action Plan developed by the Municipality of Valongo in the circular network for sustainable construction – R2CS, of the National Initiative for Circular Cities - InC2.
