During World Youth Day, held in the Tejo Park in ACR+ member Lisbon, the cleaning services collected a total of 117 tonnes of waste. Remarkably, a significant 72% of this waste was sorted effectively: 52% consisted of packaging, 11% was paper, and 9% was bio-waste. The remaining 28% of the waste was collected without differentiation.
This achievement can be attributed to the specially designed waste collection system implemented for the event, with each of the 34 sectors within the Lisbon area's Tejo Park providing an average of 150 containers designated for different types of waste, representing a total of 6 000 containers for the whole site.
