The mayor of Gijón, Carmen Moriyón, announced that the city has begun work on the development of a circular economy strategy and joined the Seville Declaration for the Circular Economy. The announcement was made at the XXVI Technical Conference of the National Association of Public Environmental Enterprises (ANEPMA), hosted by ACR+ Member EMULSA. The three-day conference successfully concluded on 18 October 2018. It included debates on topics such as "Sustainable Development Goals as tools for the transformation of environmental management", "Different visions on circular economy", "Purchasing and contracting: the new contracting law" and "Public procurement" of innovation ", etc. ACR+ participated by presenting the WINPOL project during the session “Innovation and Information Technologies applied to waste management”.
