COLLECTORS project partners launched two important tools: a web platform containing data about 242 waste collection systems and an online waste library comprised of more than 250 sources of data about waste management.

The former is one of the key deliverables of the project. Focused on three waste fractions: paper and packaging waste, WEEE, and construction and demolition waste, the platform makes available information like the organisation of the selective collection, sorting performance and associated costs for collection systems in 24 countries. The partners will continue to develop the tool by adding specific case studies in the coming months. They also encourage users to provide feedback on the data available on the site using the link at the bottom of each factsheet and to contact them at Cette adresse e-mail est protégée contre les robots spammeurs. Vous devez activer le JavaScript pour la visualiser. if they would like to share their own data on the platform.

The waste library comprises over 250 sources that the partners collected while conducting research for the web platform. At a time when waste data remains scarce, it is hoped that the two tools will contribute to a better understanding of waste collection across different countries, regions and cities.

On 26 June 2019, the COLLECTORS Consortium gathered in Warsaw for a conference on public participation in and social acceptance of new waste collection systems. More information will soon follow.
