On 20 February 2018, ACR+ attended the conference “Circular Economy: new challenges and perspectives to 2030”, organized by the Municipality of Prato.

The first session of the conference focused on policies of circular economy and innovation at the urban level. Representatives of the Municipality of Prato presented the current policies on connectivity and 5G technologies, water reuse and sustainability in the textile sector. ACR+ contribution focused on the role of local authorities in the development of circular economy strategies, presenting a repertoire of good local practices in Europe.

The second panel of the conference aimed to compare different national circular economy strategies. During the round table discussion, representatives of the Italian and Slovenian Ministries of Environment and representatives of ACR+ member LIPOR shared their perspectives.

The conference ended with a training workshop targetting NGOs in the Prato area to strengthen their capacity to benefit from public funding opportunities in circular economy.
