ACR+ member Nantes Métropole unveiled a comprehensive plan aimed at reducing waste and promoting recycling in the city. The initiative includes the construction of a new waste collection centre, improvement of existing facilities, and a renewed focus on environmental sustainability.

Nantes Métropole is set to embark on a substantial overhaul of the "La Montagne" waste centre. This upgraded waste centre aims to be adaptable, responding to changing waste flows and seasonal variations. A new eco collection point will be also established, serving the needs of the Northeastern residents. This new addition aims to accommodate additional waste streams while emphasising proximity for users. Finally, by 30 September 2024, the waste management contracts for several facilities in the region will expire. Nantes Métropole seizes this opportunity to introduce more stringent requirements aimed at waste prevention, increased recycling, improved equipment efficiency, and higher environmental performance.
