ACR+ members AICA and AMIU organised in Genoa the third edition of the World Plogging Championship, a competition focused on collecting discarded waste. The event concluded with an awards ceremony honoring the winners of this edition. The closing ceremony also featured various activities aimed at raising awareness among citizens, athletes, and schoolchildren about adopting more sustainable and less polluting behaviors. A total of approximately 3 000 kg of abandoned waste was collected, with over 2 000 kg (71% of the total) being sorted and sent for recycling. These numbers become more impressive considering that, on average, 2.2 kg of waste were collected for every kilometre covered; collectively, the athletes covered 1 318 km of roads and highways during the 6-hour race.
