The director of the ACR+ member the Catalan Waste Agency (ARC) took part in the awards ceremony for the Catalonia Ecodesign Award 2023. This prize, which is awarded every two years by the Catalan Department of Climate Action, recognises products on the market and in development designed, manufactured, or executed in Catalonia that integrate into their design considerations to improve their environmental performance throughout their life cycle. The jury mainly values the incorporation of eco-design strategies and the contribution to the circular economy, the quality of the design and innovation.
 
Among the 80 candidatures presented in this fifth edition of the award, one of the winners is the Ecoloop UB fabric for workwear, which contains up to 65% recycled fibres. In the product under development category, the award went to Eco Duo, a solution to increase the circularity of ready-to-use packaging containing concentrated cleaning products. Finally, in the young design category, the award went to Veluga, a dockside mooring defence system made from recycled plastics collected from the Mediterranean Sea.
