At the end of September 2019, ACR+ member EMULSA will start installing containers for the selective collection of organic waste on the streets of the El Llano neighbourhood. The aim is to prepare for the next phase of expansion of the organic collection which will start on 1 October 2019 and include the streets of El Llano and a part of the Pumarín neighbourhood. In this way, this service will serve 145,000 inhabitants in 2019. An awareness campaign, taking into account the characteristics of one of the districts with the highest population density in the city, will accompany the expansion informing on this new service.

The selective collection of organic waste grew by 45% in 2018, from 491 to 710 tonnes. In the first half of 2019, 980 tonnes have already been collected, which means 621 more than in the same period of the previous year.
