ACR+ member the Consorci per a Gestió dels Residus del Vallès Oriental published last month data regarding waste management on its territory. During the first semester 2018, it managed 29,763 tonnes of municipal waste, which represents an increase of 12% compared to the same period in 2017. This result is due to the selective collection which increased to 3,287 tonnes (out of 4,048 tonnes of waste managed in total).
 
From all the fractions, the paper-cardboard fraction increased the most (16.2% increase, with 391tonnes more collected compared to 2017). Regarding organic waste, the Consortium has managed between January and June 2018 25,788 tonnes of organic waste. From this, 10,877 tonnes were coming from the municipalities of the Consortium, representing an increase of 5.17% compared to 2017. The remaining 14,911 tonnes were produced by munipalities of Maresme and big producers.
