The European Week for Waste Reduction, the awareness-raising campaign on waste prevention now led by ACR+, was featured in the latest publication from the European Commission’s LIFE programme entitled LIFE and the Circular Economy. The brochure highlights what the programme has achieved until now and what it can further do to contribute to the transition to the circular economy. It features more than 100 successful projects, among which also the EWWR, which are replicable, marketable and became a source of inspiration to anyone working to make the economy more resource efficient.

Moreover this year marks the 25th anniversary of the LIFE programme and the EU Habitats Directive. Several events will enrich the celebration, one of which being the Life Green Awards on 30 May 2017 in Brussels.

For the competition the European Commission selected 15 representative projects that illustrate the impact of LIFE programme in the past years, in three categories: Environment, Nature and Climate. The EWWR is running for the award in the Environment category. The project gathering the most votes per category, in the contest organised on Facebook, will win!
