UrbanWaste

On 10 January 2019, the URBAN-WASTE project published a report on the achievements and outreach of the eco-innovative measures implemented in the 11 pilot cities and regions over 2018.

Following the testing phase, it provides the first assessment and evaluation of the identified measures, to enable stakeholders to understand what processes and procedures the project used, to adopt and adapt them to their local realities.

These measures covered various topics such as prevention, reuse, and waste collection, sorting, and recycling. The report highlights that measures related to communication and training activities and to management of organic and plastic waste were popular among the pilot areas.

Thanks to the monitoring activities carried out before and after the implementation phase for most of the measures it has been possible to make first assessments the reached results, taking into account the gender issue too.
