In its quality of advisory partner and communication manager of the WINPOL project, ACR+ prepared and sent at the end of November the WINPOL Flash #1, the newsletter of the project. In this first issue, readers can discover what this new project is all about and learn how to get involved in the promotion of smart waste management.

The WINPOL Flash #1 looks back on the kick-off meeting, hosted by the ACR+ member EMULSA – lead partner of WINPOL, at the beginning of September 2018. Since then all regional partners have been busy informing their local audiences about the project and the ways for them to get involved – for this purpose a number of Info Days and Stakeholder meetings have been organised on their territories. WINPOL has also already reached external audiences – the project was in the spotlight of a session focusing on innovation and information technologies applied to waste management during the annual technical conference of the Spanish National Association of Public Environmental Enterprises held in October 2018.

Now that WINPOL has been set in motion, partners are working on the core theme of the project: innovative systems and policies for waste management, in particular assessing the current situation with regard to intelligent equipment and planning on their territories and identifying good practices. Events will also take place on each partner territory, giving the opportunity for local actors to get involved in the project.
