The SWIM and H2020 Support Mechanism projects – Depollution of the Mediterranean & more sustainable use of scarce water resources – consists of two components, one on sustainable water management (SWIM Supporting Mechanism) and one on sustainable waste management (H2020 Supporting Mechanism), while ACR+ is involved in the latter. The concept of the SWIM-H2020 SM regional project is based upon a combination of awareness raising, policy advice, technical advice and capacity building.

Project co-financed by EuropAid.

Highlights

The past months have been intense for the project with numerous Regional Trainings and Study tours, gathering various high-level experts on many aspects of water management and environment protection. ACR+ participated to a Consultation in Rabat on the coastal diagnosis of the region and formulation of a vision and an action plan for an integrated management of the coastal zones ; to a workshop in Cairo on “Enabling Egyptian educators to implement in practice Education for Sustainable Development (ESD)”; to a regional on-site training in Athens on “Marine litter monitoring and management”; to a two-day intensive capacity-building in Amman on the development of financial instruments and incentives to promote circular economy and sustainable consumption and production; and to a four days’ workshops in Jerusalem on Construction and Demolition Waste Management and Plastic Waste Strategy.
