Urban REC 3 ENG small

The URBANREC project – new approaches for the valorisation of URBAN bulky waste into high added value RECycled products – aims to develop and implement an eco-innovative and integral bulky waste management system (enhancing prevention, improving logistics and allowing new waste treatments to obtain high added value recycled products) and demonstrate its effectiveness in different regions.

Project co-funded by the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 programme, 2016 - 2020.

The URBANREC consortium gathered on 19-20 June in Bordeaux, France, to review the steady progress of the partners. The industrial partners are further fine-tuning the developed technologies and processes for bulky waste recycling and treatment, while the public authorities within the project are working on the implementation and assessment of adapted solutions on their territories.

The next meeting of the URBANREC consortium will take place in November 2018 in Germany and will be combined with a networking day presenting the technical achievements of the project to an external audience. By the end of the year, ACR+ will further organise a meeting of the Legal working group, following a first such meeting in April where discussions were focused on the hurdles faced by industry to introduce secondary raw materials on the market.

More news on URBANREC has recently been published in the latest project newsletter, if you missed it you can read it here.
